I had a great sax lesson last night: it really cheered me up. And Mel said my first stab at improvisation was OK. “Respect!” she said. (Oh, she is a sweetie.)
Then she said - “You have to remember that in improvisation, there is no such thing as a wrong note, only a poor choice.”
I liked that sentiment, and I’ve been wondering if it applies to life as well as to improvisation. Sadly, I don’t think it does.
