Vulnerability

I walked out of Suffragette this week. I couldn't take the police brutality.
More on this tomorrow as I'm still processing it.

What couldn't you take... That it happened or the film made too much of it?

It's very complex, which is why I am thinking about it and thinking what to say.
Have you seen it?

In my case I have not seen it and had decided not to....as a young woman read about the movement and all the brutality associated with police and public reaction to it and can not bring myself to witness even a fictional version...did not go see The Magdalen Laundries either for the same reason. And oh gosh...at the moment what with the refugee crisis and the police in Jerusalem shooting at will ( made the mistake of watching a video of police shooting a young woman with a knife at point blank range) , there is too much that is so horrendous. I sometimes think I am cowardly to not be able to even watch what is happening or did happen to others but there it is...

We have a lot in common, Marmee.

No, I'm not sure I want to for many reasons although I believe what these women did ought to be better known.
