Today’s post

Today I am honoured to be a guest blogger on the poet Anthony Wilson’s wonderful blog. I came across his blog in February when I googled “reading poems to the dying.” Then I discovered his Lifesaving Poems project and ordered the book. Since it was published in June it has been on my bedside table with my other indispensable books.

Loved loved what you wrote about your dad's funeral! A long time ago you spoke of publishing that journal...think you should if you can bear the sharing of it..

The first death that really impacted me was the death of a beloved uncle when i was 14. He was the first person in my life who had made me truly feel loved and his funeral took place in the midst of a great dust storm caused by a terrible drought. So this lovely person went off on a day that became dark at noon...only later did I did I feel how apt that was..that even the sun should mourn his passing.

Hi Marmee. Your story made me shiver.
Thanks for sharing it.
I'm still thinking about publishing the journal.
