Days are where we live

A friend who is reading my latest book, DAYS ARE WHERE WE LIVE, said she liked the title, and I said 'Oh, do you know where it comes from?'

She didn't. So maybe you don't either.

It's from my favourite Larkin poem:

Days

What are days for?
Days are where we live.
They come, they wake us
Time and time over.
They are to be happy in:
Where can we live but days?

Ah, solving that question
Brings the priest and the doctor
In their long coats
Running over the fields.

Hi ! I have been quoting this poem all the time since you introduced it to me! I have found the line : Days are where we live a constant reminder that pandemic or no pandemic, it is the absolute truth that days are where we live . So therefore make these days the best we can. Of course some days feel tough, or sad, or scary, BUT days are where we live and these are those days.
