How did you get here?

This morning, feeling sad, I googled “Poems to read to the dying” and in a couple of links arrived at Anthony Wilson’s wonderful Lifesaving Poems Blog. I have been sitting in bed reading the poems on his list. Now, I’m ordering the anthology which is to published in June by Bloodaxe.

Then as I was eating my porridge I got to wondering how you, dear readers, came across my blog. I am always amazed how many people get here via an old post of mine called It is possible to have too many tables.

I came via Megan's blog. One day, out of the need for some distraction, I clicked on the links of all those who had commented on one of her posts and found you. Then Dave's now defunct blog. Then read all your novels...

I feel very touched that three of you should bother to tell me how you found me. Thank you. And thanks for the love.x

Sue - you and I first crossed paths some 46 years ago, but couldn't say how I became aware of your blog. Seeing what you're up to is part of my daily ritual of solace in the working week!

Do you recall those Guardian items, where an adult answers a child's questions - there was a really good one - 'Why do we live?'

AC Grayling's answer included this - ' we live because there are people who love us, and people we love back.'

Especially true when things are hard.
